Visiting Hours
Mineral Area Regional Medical Center believes that visitors are an important part of our patients' recovery process. Visitation can provide emotional support and a nice deviation for patients. With the increase in safety and security of our patients as well as new privacy standards (see HIPAA guidelines), MARMC will only provide the room number of a patient for visitation if the patient has not requested that such visits be denied. In addition, you must know the full name of the patient when asking for a room number.

At times, MARMC may limit the number of visitors allowed at one time in a room or may require that children under a certain age not visit the hospital.

These safety precautions are usually enforced during high census times and/or seasonal periods where additional precautions must be taken. If you have a cold, flu, or other transmittable medical condition, please do not visit a patient.

In addition, it is strongly recommended that friends and families do not bring a patient food or beverage from outside the facility and/or any medications from home. Both could be detrimental to the patient's progress during their stay with us.

General visiting hours are as follows:
• ICU - The first fifteen minutes of each even hour from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
• Medical/Surgical Unit - 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
• OB Unit - 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
• Emergency Department - 24 hours per day, limit is one visitor at a time. Circumstances may prevent immediate visitation of a patient due to nature of the Emergency Department setting.

Cafeteria Hours:
Breakfast:  7:15 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Lunch:  1:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Dinner:  5:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.

Family members and friends are welcome to visit. Patient care is our primary concern at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center, and in order to enhance the quality of care, we ask that visitors not stay past 8:00 p.m. and not arrive before 11:00 a.m. The Critical Care Unit's visiting hours are the first fifteen minutes of the hour starting at 10:00 a.m., 12:00 noon, 2:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Due to patient privacy requirements, any information about the patient’s diagnosis or treatment must come directly from the patient to concerned family members or friends.  No information will be given out by the switchboard operator or nursing personnel. The patient may be reached by dialing (573) 756-4581 and asking for the patient by name.
