Cardiac Rehabilitation
Cardiac Rehabilitation is a department dedicated to the care of patients living with heart disease. Following a cardiac event, such as a heart attack or bypass surgery, the Cardiac Rehabilitation staff provides Phase II and III rehabilitation services. Their goal is to strengthen the heart muscle, increase endurance, improve physical strength and return to independence with an improved lifestyle. The program is a combination of supervised exercise and education done on an individual basis according to the patient's needs, age, physical limitations, and abilities. Emergency Services
You do not plan to visit the emergency department. It just happens, and usually when you least expect it. At Mineral Area Regional Medical Center, goal that you will receive quality medical care as quickly and professionally as possible.

Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the Emergency Department at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center, offers today's modern emergency care provided by some of the most experienced physicians and staff anywhere.

Treating injuries ranging from minor cuts and bruises to life-threatening conditions, the Emergency Department team works each day to provide quality and appropriate care with compassion to the Mineral Area residents and visitors — that's our commitment to you!

All patients are important to the providers at MARMC. Our goal is to communicate with you throughout your time with us so that you are better informed about your care process and the time that you are expected to have to spend with us. In addition, we will do our best to get you through the process as timely as possible. When you arrive at the Emergency Department, you can expect to be immediately triaged, e.g. evaluated/categorized by the severity of your illness. Patients that present by ambulance or through our registration area with more severe and life-threatening conditions are given top priority by our medical team.

The ER Goal
The ER goal is for you to have access 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week, to qualified physicians who take the time to listen to what you have to say. You will be greeted warmly by nurses who are truly compassionate and a registration staff that understands that people come before paperwork.

Our team of trained physicians, nurses and technicians are able to provide fast, quality care. They will listen to you, examine you carefully and prescribe a treatment plan that you will understand and believe in.

Our emergency department, has committed to provide quality service by meeting the needs of our patients and their families with courtesy and respect. Your emergency experience should be one of care, concern and attention to your emotional and physical needs. It is our goal not only to meet our patients’ needs, but also to exceed the expectations of the people in the community we serve.

Home Health Services
Healthcare services provided at home help individuals to recover from illness, surgery, and other medical problems in a comfortable environment close to family and friends. A broad range of services are offered by our staff of registered nurses, therapists, social workers, and certified home health aides. Home Health staff are available to make visits weekdays and offer on-call nursing availability 24-hours a day, every day of the year. Imaging Services
The radiology professionals at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center are fully equipped to handle all high quality imaging needs. Available exams include:

• Diagnostic x-rays available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Images and reports of all modalities are available from our PACS system via secure internet connection.

• Mammography available Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. ACR and FDA certified.

• CAT Scans are available Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. Emergency call after hours and holidays. Two scanners are available and both are four slice units capable of performing 3-D and angiography procedures as well as cardiac calcium scoring. Extended hours offer patients appointments that fit their schedules.

• Ultrasound is available Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m. Emergency call after hours, weekends and holidays. Two units are available for general and vascular procedures and another unit is available for echocardiograms and echocardiograms with color flow Doppler.

• Nuclear Medicine is available Monday through Friday 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Emergency call after hours, weekends and holidays. Performing all major procedures including HIDA, Cardiac Stress testing, Bone Scans, I-123 Thyroid uptakes and Brain SPECT scans.

• Open MRI is available Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. ACR Certified Department. Extended hours offer patients appointments that fit their schedules.

Mineral Area School of Radiologic Technology
Mineral Area School of Radiologic Technology is committed to quality education and places special emphasis on educating students to become Radiologic Technologists.

The profession of Radiologic Technology requires the ability to provide appropriate health care services. Radiographers are highly skilled professionals qualified by education to perform imaging examinations using "Ionizing Radiation" at the request of the physicians.

Upon successful completion of the 22 month accredited course of study in Radiologic Science, the student is eligible to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technology Exam. Upon passing the national registry the student will be entitled to use the initials R.T.® behind their name certifying their completion and qualification as a Registered Radiologic Technologist. Students often advance to other specialties within the field of Radiology such as Radiation Therapy, Nuclear medicine, Ultrasound, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Computed Tomography, and Mammography.

Outpatient Center
With advancements in technology and a dedicated concentration on patient convenience, more and more services are offered at MARMC on an outpatient basis. The Outpatient Center, offers convenient registration, testing, and discharge all in one location. The entrance for Outpatient Services is located at the back of the building with convenient parking on the back parking lot. Just follow the signs to Outpatient Services. Pulmonary Services
Mineral Area Regional Medical Center's pulmonary services are dedicated to patients coping with asthma, emphysema, COPD, or other lung diseases. The department provides information to lessen shortness of breath, improve endurance, and encourage self-confidence. A comprehensive and individually specific plan is developed for each patient, to improve their quality of life and day-to-day activities. Rehabilitation Services
The Physical, Speech and Occupational Therapies Department offers care on an inpatient, outpatient, or home health basis. The staff is certified and experienced in all phases of rehabilitation including but not limited to: orthopedic injuries, joint replacements, stroke, chronic medical conditions, amputations, wound management, work related injuries, hand therapy and all phases of speech therapy including swallowing disorders and speech and language delay. Surgical Services
The Medical Staff of Mineral Area Regional Medical Center perform a wide variety of inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures using the latest technology and invasive techniques. Some surgeries that utilize laparoscopic or other technologies allow you to have surgery and return home the same day. These procedures are not only cost-effective and convenient but are also minimally invasive so recovery time is reduced.

Women´s Services
Mineral Area Regional Medical Center understands that a woman's needs are unique. That's why we continuously work to improve the services we offer the women of our communities. From educational opportunities to services that are convenient and centrally located for women, MARMC offers the following:

Education - Classes held especially for a woman's needs in mind. MARMC offers classes on childbirth, breastfeeding, sibling and much more. For more information on these classes call (573)-701-7210.

Screenings – Throughout the year, MARMC offers a variety of health screenings especially for women. Some of the offerings include: reduced rate mammograms, cholesterol checks, osteoporosis screenings, and diabetes checks.

Obstetrics and Gynecology Services – Pregnancy is a special time and the staff of the Obstetrics Department bring a wealth of experience and specialized training in maternal and newborn care to our patients and their families. MARMC offers homelike, private Labor and Delivery suites as well as both private and semi-private post-partum rooms. In addition, MARMC offers comprehensive educational classes to prepare you for your special arrival.

Clergy/Prayer Ministries
Mineral Area Regional Medical Center believes in spiritual healing is an important component to a patient’s recovery from illness or injury. The hospital works closely with local clergy to ensure that patients who wish to have spiritual services provided to them either by phone or in person may access a representative either from their local church or religious affiliation. In accordance with HIPAA standards, it is important that the patient notify the Admitting Department personnel of their request to have a visit by clergy during their stay and sign the appropriate document allowing the hospital to arrange for that service.
